Child Health

 

  • Vision and hearing screenings

  • Early detection, education and monitoring of chronic health problems including: blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol

  • Cholesterol lowering nutrition classes available

  • Education on early detection of breast cancer with referrals for breast exams and mammograms (free mammograms and cervical exams if income eligible), for more information visit EDW.

  • Allergy shots and other injections

  • Information and referral for family planning services

  • Immunizations – Tetanus, Pneumonia, Flu, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis A (adults need tetanus boosters every 10 years)

  • Applications for septic system permits available. Hodgeman County codes require all existing and new septic systems to meet code requirements. Permits required for all upgrades and new septic systems. For more information visit www.lepg.net.

  • Foodborne illness and disease outbreak investigations

  • Assessment of vaccine requirements for international travel

  • Make home visits to homebound clients to monitor their health status and provide needed health care services including medication set-ups, foot care, dressing changes, lab test collections, etc.

  • Kansas Farmworker Program - The Kansas Statewide Farmworker Health Program provides primary and preventative health care services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers throughout the state of Kansas.

Many pamphlets and a wide variety of information is available. Nurses are available for programs on disease prevention and health promotion.

We do bill Medicare for Flu and Pneumonia shots.
