Women, Infants, & Children (WIC)
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children - better known as the WIC Program - serves to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, & children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.
WIC supplies extra food and nutrition education for:
Pregnant women
New mothers - breastfeeding mothers up to one year
Infants - under 1 year old
Children - 1 to 5 years old
Eligibility requirements for WIC are:
Income - House hold income less than 185% of the poverty level. Income eligibility varies depending on the number of people in your household.
Residency - You must live in Kansas.
Must be pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum woman, infant, or child up to five years old.
